Site No 124 - Orbitur Guincho

Eurocamping

We first visited this site in 2011, a large site with pretty good good facilities although there are no seats, paper, soap or towels in the loos, this is quite common on Portuguese caravan sites, but they are clean and the showers have lashings of hot water which despite being the push button type are adjustable for temperature. There are few specific marked pitches and even some of those have trees growing in them. Talking of trees, I have never seen so many on one campsite, great in the summer when shade is needed but can make the for a dull and chilly winter.

There is a good bar and restaurant on site the night we arte there we were pleasantly surprised that all the food was cooked from fresh rather than the chill/microwave meals that are increasingly used at campsite restaurants in the low season.

All the staff were very helpful and all that we had contact with spoke good English, indeed the lady behind the bar spoke Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German and Italian.

The site is ideally placed with good transport links to Cascais, Lisbon and Sintra.
